These bills would act as a post-election poll tax where, if a person decides to exercise her constitutional right to vote, that person would now have 60 days to pay the State various motor vehicle fees.

The constitution of the US and the State of NH has already affirmed that students can vote in the district where they go to school. Students spend the majority of four years in this state, contribute significantly to our economy in that time, and are affected by the policies legislators pass in that time. We believe any attempt to add undue burden or discourage students from doing this is an attack on their constitutional right to vote. We should be working to attract and retain people so they make New Hampshire home and help our state’s economy grow and thrive. We shouldn't shut them out.

Even Governor Chris Sununu admits that this bill will prevent every eligible voter from casting a ballot. The bills have passed the House and are awaiting Senate vote before they hit the Governor's desk. Governor Sununu is our last chance to stop these bills.
