Stand with Hunger Strikers at MacDougall Prison
Stand with Hunger Strikers at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution
Right now, 2 of the 7 men are continuing their hunger strike at MacDougall-Walker Correctional Institution. They are risking their lives to expose the harsh realities inside the Connecticut prison system, including frequent, unexplained lockdowns and a disturbing rise in suicide attempts. Some of the other strikers were forced to stop due to threats from correctional officers, but Jacky Robinson Jr. and Cornel Myers continue to bravely resist these conditions.
Their Demands Are Simple, Their Treatment Is Inhumane.
Despite their peaceful protest, the court has authorized the Department of Corrections (DOC) to force-feed them against their will. Instead of listening to their concerns, Commissioner Angel Quiros has chosen to pursue a court order to silence them. The next hearing, on October 8th, will decide if the temporary injunction allowing force-feeding can be overturned.
Their Demands Include:
1. Improved access to quality medical care, particularly mental health services. They are being denied critical, requested treatments.
2. Better quantity and quality of food. The food provided is not sufficient or nutritious.
3. End harsh charging and sentencing practices that continue to devastate incarcerated individuals.
4. Stop excessive lockdowns and shakedowns, which limit access to basic necessities like phone calls and showers.
5.End retaliation against those who speak out about the injustices inside our prisons.
What Can You Do?

Stand With Jacky Robinson Jr. (#419058) and Cornel Myers (#411921) In their fight for basic human rights. The state should be discussing real solutions, not forcing food down their throats.
