Tell Senators to Restore HB 22 to the Version That Left the Joint Education Committee in the Interim

HB 22 – Teacher accountability – has been laid back in the senate until Monday, Feb. 11.

After extensive amendments, the bill no longer reflects the good work of the committee, and it convolutes the current Chapter 29 rules, disrupts the effective teacher evaluation systems currently in place, and takes local control away from school districts.

Teacher evaluation systems belong in the hands of school districts, where they are used to promote growth, learning, and student achievement.

WEA needs you to contact your senator and ask that HB 22 be restored to the version that left the Joint Education Committee in the interim. We have a short timeline – so please act this weekend!

Tell senators that teacher evaluation systems belong in the hands of school districts, where they are used to promote growth, learning, and student achievement.

HB 0022, is currently laid back in the Senate and will be heard on Monday, February 11, 2019.
