Tell A2 City Council: Amend the RFP!
After canceling the original RFP for $3.5 million, the city has recently released a second RFP and we have grave concerns about it. The current RFP, as written, requires that the response program “must call 911 immediately, or as soon as they can safely do so, if they observe or reasonably suspect a crime in progress.” This could force any new program funded by the RFP to effectively operate as a police co-response program, which is contrary to the repeated community demands that this program be independent from police. Join us in expressing concern to city staff and their council members, demanding they address this issue in the current RFP.
