Tell Capital Metro Austin Needs an Ambitious Mass Transit System
In order to address our transportation challenges and meet our climate goals, we must have a strong plan to make mass transit work for Austin.
On Dec. 17, the Capital Metro Board of Directors will vote on a Project Connect system plan — which determines where new routes would go and what level of service they would receive.
The proposed plan is a good start, but it falls well short of the vision of prioritizing moving people instead of cars.
While it does identify two priority routes for high capacity transit in dedicated lanes, most of the rest of the system would consist of buses mixed in with traffic. And key transit routes that were identified in early drafts to serve north and east Austin have been removed from the plan.

Please send an email to the Capital Metro Board of Directors to ask for their support to strengthen the plan before they adopt it on Dec. 17.
