Tell lawmakers: Louisiana’s public servants deserve their Social Security benefits.

Only Congress has the power to change the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and Government Pension Offset (GPO). These rules prevent educators, firefighters, police officers and other public servants, from getting full Social Security benefits even if they and their spouses have paid into the national system.

Our House Retirement Committee is considering SCR 22 by Sen. Beth Mizell (R-Franklinton), which asks Congress to eliminate the WEP and GPO.

Please send a message to the House Retirement Committee. Ask them to approve SCR 22 and tell Congress to give Louisiana’s public employees the Social Security benefits they have earned and deserve!
