Tell Medieval Times Management to Bargain in Good Faith

In July, we - the actors, knights and squires, and stable hands at the Medieval Times castle in Lyndhurst, New Jersey - won our union election to join the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA). We formed our union, Medieval Times Performers United NJ, to create a fairer, safer, and more enjoyable workplace at our castle.

Now we’re at the bargaining table to negotiate a fair and just first contract that achieves these goals and improves our workplace. And while we are trying to work collaboratively with Medieval Times, management is fighting us at every turn. Medieval Times management is refusing to even discuss the union’s proposal regarding staffing minimums needed to ensure the health and safety of Medieval Times performers.

Tell Medieval Times management to bargain in good faith with Medieval Performers Times United NJ!

We know what’s happening. Medieval Times management continues to engage in union-busting activity in an effort to undermine us and to intimidate our colleagues at other castles. When, given ongoing Covid concerns, we requested to negotiate over Zoom, management refused. Instead, management has bombarded us and our colleagues with texts and emails full of misinformation about the bargaining process.

Medieval Times needs to stop union-busting and engage in good faith bargaining with us, its employees’ union. Will you stand in solidarity with us, the members of Medieval Times Performers United NJ, by signing this petition.
