Tell Olympia: Sidewalks and Transit Now!

Orange background with the words, "Disability Mobility Initiative" on top.

Right now, legislators in Olympia are debating transportation investments worth billions of dollars over the next 16 years — almost all dedicated to highways. People of color, low-income communities, and disabled people who can’t or don’t drive are getting left behind! We can do better than this.

First, watch and share this short video created by Front and Centered of fierce BIPOC and disability advocates calling for dignity in transportation, featuring:

  • Alejandra Grillo-Roa of Seattle, Entre Hermanos

  • Paul Tabayoyon of Yakima, Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Yakima

  • Jaime R. Torres of Pasco, Tri-Cities Justice Alliance

  • Abby Griffith of Vancouver, WA, Disability Mobility Initiative

  • Jamin Mason of Port Orchard, Washington People’s Party

  • Krystal Monteros of Tacoma, Tacoma Commission on Disabilities

  • Anna Zivarts, Disability Rights Washington

  • Paulo Nunes-Ueno, Front and Centered

Next, take action to tell our elected leaders to fund and build the safe sidewalks, accessible crossings, and reliable and accessible transit so that Washington has safe, clean, and fair transportation for all!
