In his time in office, UC President Drake pushed through a Tuition Stability Plan that permanently raised tuition for students, promising to reduce class sizes and invest in faculty. The UC received billions of dollars in COVID relief funding, the California state legislature increased the UC’s funding by an unprecedented 5%, and the university’s endowment reported record-breaking growth of some $38 billion.

But to date, President Drake has dragged his feet on reinvesting these immense financial resources in the faculty who teach UC. It’s time for that to change.
