Tell Rep. Kind: No Tax Bill that Doesn’t Put Money in the Pockets of Workers and Families
Note: If Rep. Kind is not your representative, then click here for a generic action page.
Congress is debating more tax breaks for businesses even though the Trump tax cuts of 2017 benefited corporations and the wealthy over everyone else.
It’s time for Congress to stand up for us.
This fall, let’s make sure Congress doesn’t repeat the mistakes of the past by leaving workers and families out of tax cuts yet again.
Tell Rep. Kind that Congress shouldn’t pass a bill that gives tax breaks to businesses unless the bill also puts money into the pockets of working people and families who need it most.
If Congress extends tax breaks for businesses, it should also expand the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC). These tax credits are two of the most effective tools to put money in the pockets of working people and pull children out of poverty. Expanding them will give hundreds of thousands more Wisconsin residents a foothold in the middle class and open doors to opportunity to families across the state.
Our tax system should work for everyone, not just the wealthy and big corporations.
Rep. Kind is on the House committee that deals with taxes, so he can use his voice to stand up for working people while the next tax bill is being drafted.
Tell Rep. Kind working families shouldn’t be left out again. Don’t support a business tax cut without expanding tax credits for working families.
