Both the BC Greens and the NDP ran on a commitment to create and fund a Youth Climate Corps. With extreme weather still on the rise and youth unemployment at a decade-high rate, creating a public institution to hire young people into climate work would signal that the BC government is ready to treat the climate crisis like a true emergency.

Committing to a YCC within the first 100 days of this government is needed if there's any hope of holding the support of young people.
