Tell the EPA to clean ALL of the Duwamish River
The Duwamish River is designated by the EPA as a superfund site due to extensive pollution by the industries operating alongside the river. The EPA ruled in their 2014 record of decision that 5 miles of the river are eligible for a special federal cleanup program due to the severity of its contamination. In 2017 and 2018, testing of sediment, water, and seafood was done to establish new baseline conditions and a revised recommendation was made to clean up 5 acres less reducing the estimated cost of $342 million by $1 million. The residents of the Duwamish River Valley are asking you to demand that the EPA honor the original decision and clean ALL of the Duwamish River as previously promised.
