Tell the Post Office: The 21st century mail fleet must be ELECTRIC!
Trump holdover Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is doing his worst for the climate.
The U.S. Postal Service has accepted a severely flawed Environmental Impact Statement approving purchase of a new national fleet of nearly all gasoline-powered mail delivery trucks over the next decade. As noted by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Associate Administrator Vicki Arroyo,
The Postal Service’s proposal as currently crafted represents a crucial lost opportunity to more rapidly reduce the carbon footprint of one of the largest government fleets in the world.
Click on “Start Writing” to learn more, and send letters to your Congressperson and the U.S. Postal Service Board of Governors, urging reversal of DeJoy’s flawed decision to replace the aging fleet of post office delivery vehicles with gas-powered trucks instead of battery electric vehicles—as recommended by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the White House Council on Environmental Quality, the California Air Resources Board, and many others.
