Thank you for opposing House Bill 06
During the Idaho Legislature's Special Session, House Bill 006 was passed and signed into law by Governor Brad Little. HB06 weakens liability for actions that lead to COVID-19 exposure and any consequences of exposure. This immunity from liability includes private businesses, schools and senior living facilities, among other entities.
The ability for Idahoans to sue, even when harmed by grossly negligent conduct has been stripped. This is especially concerning for our elders living in assisted living facilities. There was little thought or empathy provided for the predicament teachers are being put in and no admittance of the lack of continuity across the state when it comes to navigating the pandemic for the collective good.
Though the bill still passed, we want to extend our gratitude to those who debated and voted against the passage of HB06 as they recognize the loss of a critical tool for Idahaons to use to protect themselves against the potential gross negligence of certain entities, which could lead to exposure of COVID-19, and the health consequences that come as a result. Help us say thank you them, to encourage them to keep up the hard work.
