Last week the House of Delegates voted to make earned paid sick days a reality for hundreds of thousands of Marylanders! The bill isn't law yet, but pease join us in showing your Delegates your appreciation for their yes vote.

More than 750,000 hardworking Marylanders are unable to earn a single paid sick day.  The Healthy Working Families Act would allow workers to earn one hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to five days per year for a full-time worker.

The ability to earn paid sick days makes good common sense.  When sick people stay home, the spread of illness slows. Children recover faster when their parents are able to care for them.  And, families with access to paid sick days are more likely to be able to make ends meet.
