Tired of Sand Mining in Plymouth? Send a letter today!
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
This letter campaign is brought to you by a group of ordinary people from Plymouth, Massachusetts who are dismayed by sand mining projects, both current and proposed, around our Town. Of great concern is the expedited and obscure process by which many of these projects are approved.
On December 4, 2024 the Town Planning Board voted to allow the current sand mine proposal at 71 Hedges Pond Road bypass a public Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hearing. We think this project should be denied or at least that there should be an open public hearing before the ZBA. This letter campaign is intended to carry our otherwise unheard concerns to Town of Plymouth leadership.
Now the decision on whether to grant the permit or require a ZBA hearing is in the hands of the Director of the Town's Department of Inspectional Services Jason Silva. The Town's Select Board oversees this Department. If you are concerned about sand mining you can make your voice heard. This letter campaign will send a letter to Mr. Silva and to Plymouth's Select Board. You can write your own letter here or sign ours. Go to START WRITING to get started.
