Urge Lawmakers to Fund Vital Child Care Grants for FY2023!

Launched in the summer of 2021, the Commonwealth Cares for Children (C3) operational grant program to help sustain child care providers and enable families to find care for their children — and it needs your advocacy!

These grants are critical to helping child care providers raise wages, retain early educators, and recruit new educators. These grants allow more children and families throughout the Commonwealth to continue to access the child care they need. Without these grants, providers won't be able to maintain wage growth, causing reduced capacity for providers and ultimately decreased access and availability for families and children.

Currently, these C3 grants will sunset at the end of May 2023 and we need legislators to fully fund this grant program through the end of the 2023 fiscal year in June. We have a unique opportunity to advocate for this given that the Massachusetts legislature is in the midst of preparing its supplemental budget for FY23.

We are mobilizing our #ChildCareVoters like you to urge lawmakers to include $70 million in the supplemental FY23 budget to fund the C3 operational grant program.
