Urge Seattle Council & Mayor to act now for COVID relief
State and local leaders have taken important and necessary steps to protect us from the coronavirus. But now the economy is in freefall, as businesses shut their doors and workers by the thousands are losing their jobs. People need money NOW for rent, food, medicine, and other basic necessities.
Federal and state aid is essential, but it will be nowhere near enough, and many vulnerable people will fall through the cracks. We’re asking Seattle elected officials to step up and pass a local economic relief package, with major new progressive revenue, to provide flexible funds for our communities and prevent a downward spiral.
Please take a moment to email Seattle city councilmembers and Mayor Durkan in support of this plan, and tell them how this crisis is affecting you, your family, your friends and your community.
