Urge the Mayor and Chancellor to stop violating student privacy by enabling charter schools access to personal information to market their schools!

The DOE is  allowing charter schools to access the personal information of students and families for the purpose of helping them market their schools, and this has prompted investigations by both the US Department of Education and the NY State Education Department for violating student privacy. Chancellor Carranza's primary responsibility should be to support and strengthen our public schools, rather than help charters recruit more students and divert more public funding, already costing the DOE more than $2.1 billion per year. Urge the Mayor and the Chancellor to halt this practice; please start by filling your information to the right.
