Urge your representatives to vote NO on a bill that cuts education funding by nearly 30%

In August, we asked you to take action on the U.S. House of Representatives’ plan to advance legislation that proposes devastating cuts to federal education funding. The House is gearing up to attempt to pass this legislation this month, so we again need legislators to hear your voice!

This bill would cut funding for education by nearly 30%, including the following:

  • Eliminates Title II-A of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which can be used to provide candidate and fee support for National Board Certification, among other professional development

  • Eliminates the Supporting Effective Educator Development (SEED) grant, which has funded initiatives to grow NBCTs in targeted states and districts

  • Slashes Title I of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act by 80%, which provides critical funding to low-income schools

While this proposal is unlikely to become law, it is important to continue urging House members to protect education funding.

Now, we need to ensure that every legislator understands that this proposal is a non-starter for our schools, teachers, and students. We urge you to send a message to your legislators telling them how important it is to responsibly fund these programs.

Enter your information to be matched with your elected officials. We'll walk you through the rest!
