We need a public submission process for citizen-drawn maps NOW

Ohioans voted overwhelmingly against gerrymandering and in favor of fair maps in 2015 and 2018. The new redistricting rules that we passed require a transparent process and public participation.

Public participation includes the ability to create and submit our own maps for consideration. The Ohio Redistricting Commission has finally convened, and the important task of drawing new state legislative and congressional district maps is underway. But Ohio’s official mapmakers have still not revealed how the public will be able to submit their own maps.

Join us in writing to your legislators and the Ohio Redistricting Commission to demand that they immediately work to set up a portal where citizens can submit maps they have created.
