WE WANT PROSECUTION OF THE OFFICERS AND NURSE THAT KILLED MICHAEL MCDANIEL

Jada Mcdaniel

On February 6, 2021 Michael McDaniel... was assaulted by corrections officers in one of Ohio's state prisons. Due to the nature of the assault he die of a panic induced heart attack. The Franklin County Coroner’s office had declared McDaniel’s death a homicide and ruled the cause as a “stress-induced sudden cardiac death.” The autopsy detailed injuries to his head, face, shoulders, wrists, hands, knees, feet, toes and abdomen. McDaniel also had multiple rib fractures, and the coroner found evidence of heart disease.

6 officers and 1 nurse have been fired due to this. The nurse falsified documents concerning his care, Saying that he refused care. In the state departments findings. Mr. McDaniel in fact did nor and she blatantly lied. We are asking that not only are these men and women prosecuted to the highest extent of the law, but the nurse lose her nursing license indefinitely. We also are seeking that Ohio Department of corrections is forced to place body cameras on all of their Corrections officers, staff, and nurse. There is zero accountability measures in place for DOC and occurrences such as this are becoming very common.

Mr. McDaniel was assaulted so severely. That his family was unable to have an open casket at his funeral. The toll it has taken on them is not warranted. We want justice for Michael and we want in NOW. His death was preventable had these officers and the nurse showed any concern for his life. Yet they case the culture of corrections and that is to treat the men and women incarcerated. Unjustly, inhumanly and they do it with pride.

We demand prosecution for this life that was lost. As well as body cameras on all staff. The only way this is going to stop. Is if we put accountability measures in place and change the culture of corrections and prison in America. The country with the highest incarceration rate in the world.
