Tell President Drake: #StopTheSellout

President Drake

For the past year, we've been fighting alongside our campus workers to #StopTheSellout of our campus. The OSU administration is inviting corporations to take over our university and squeeze more and more profit from students and workers: they already sold off our parking garages, and now the Comprehensive Energy Management plan threatens to sell off our energy systems. This dangerous deal could cost workers their union jobs. We refuse to let this corporate takeover threaten workers rights and the integrity of our public university.

Dear President Drake,

I am shocked to hear that The Ohio State University administration is resorting to threatening students with expulsion and criminal charges for peacefully demonstrating in support of workers rights on campus. The concerns that students and workers have raised in regards to the proposed Comprehensive Energy Management Plan are important perspectives. From the lack of transparency, to the conflict of interest with Geoffrey Chatas, to the threat of workers losing their union jobs and voices at work, this is clearly a reckless plan. I support their calls to put an end to this corporate takeover of vital public resources, and I urge you to put an official end to the Comprehensive Energy Management Plan.
