Humira is the #1 selling drug in the world. It’s sold by a corporation called AbbVie. It treats rheumatoid arthritis and other extremely painful diseases that afflict both adults and children.
Humira’s list price has increased by 144% since 2012.
Between 2015 and 2018, AbbVie tied its executives’ pay to Humira’s revenue. In 2015, AbbVie drastically increased Humira’s prices and raked in nearly $2 billion more in net revenue than the previous year. Their executives took home nearly $50 million.
