To Turning Point USA, the creators of the Professor Watchlist
The Professor Watchlist, which accuses named faculty of “advancing leftist propaganda in the classroom,” is a blacklist. Like the blacklists of eras past, it threatens the vigorous, sometimes controversial and frequently creative exploration vital to engaging college and university study and teaching. Because it attacks people and institutions charged with promoting the frontiers of human knowledge, it is also a threat to free inquiry in our society as a whole.
We will not be intimidated or shamed by this list. We stand in solidarity with our colleagues already named to it, and proclaim our collective commitment to academic freedom and free inquiry by requesting that our names be added.
