If there is one thing the COVID pandemic has shown, it's that caring for vulnerable people is a team effort. The staff at Villa Leonardo Gambin long term care home have exemplified this by going above-and-beyond to make sure their residents properly cared for, even during COVID outbreaks in the home, because they knew that the residents and their families were counting on their care.

Some VLG staff received temporary pandemic pay increases but only for certain job categories and only for short periods of time. This band-aid solution doesn't go nearly far enough to address the chronic and dangerous staff shortage homes like Villa Leonarod Gambin are challenged with. It's also a slap in the face to the hard-working team members whose contributions were not recognized.

All staff at Villa Leonardo Gambin need to be acknowledged and compensated for the high levels of care they provide each and every day, pandemic or no pandemic.  Please sign this petition to tell VLG Chair Andrew Iacobelli and the VLG Board of Directors to immediately provide all workers at Villa Leonardo Gambin with a permanent pay increase of at least $3/hour to ensure that they are paid what they're worth; that the team providing care gets the recognition and respect they deserve; and that people will continue to seek out careers at VLG.
