Save our school! Call on Norfolk County Council to open a community consultation on the future of Angel Road Junior School
Norfolk County Council
It has now come to light that Angel Road Junior School will be closed permanently with the school hoping to accommodate both the infant and junior schools on the same site from September 2022. We are angry about the lack of clarity given to parents and residents about this over the past six months and now concerned about the future of the old school building on the site at Angel Road.
The building will now be returned to Norfolk County Council who will be responsible for deciding how the site will be used in the future. Together, as your Sewell Green Party councillor, and as your city council candidate 2022, we are calling for Norfolk County Council to listen to residents and set up a community consultation about how the building should be used. After six months of being kept in the dark, residents must be at the forefront of this decision.
We are also calling for Norfolk County Council to ensure that the proper facilities are in place at Angel Road Infant School for pupils moved here so that their education and general school experience are unaffected.
Sign our petition to Norfolk County Council now. The more signatures we have from local residents, the louder our message will be.

For the past six months, pupils, parents and residents have been kept in the dark about the future of Angel Road Junior School. With confirmation that pupils will never be returning to the site and it returning to Norfolk County Council, residents need to be heard.
The building, which dates back to the early 1900's, is an important part of our local area which must be protected. Any plans for the site must be made very carefully with input from the community at all stages to find a way forward that retains the heritage of the building and respects those that live in the area.
We are demanding that a community consultation be opened to inform any decisions about the future of Angel Road Junior School and that Norfolk County Council contacts all residents in the surrounding area, asking them for their opinion on any plans.
