AT&T Stop Cutting Jobs & Lead the Recovery

Incoming AT&T CEO, John T. Stankey

Despite the pandemic forcing many to work from home and rely more heavily on communications services, AT&T plans to permanently close more than 250 AT&T Mobility and Cricket Wireless stores cutting thousands of technician and clerical jobs across the country.

Turning its back on its workers and customers after pledging to step up during the recovery is another broken promise from AT&T. Sign this petition to urge AT&T to stop cutting jobs and lead the recovery!

Dear Mr. Stankey,

AT&T has informed the Communications Workers of America of its plans to permanently shutter over 250 AT&T Mobility and Cricket Wireless stores, impacting 1,300 retail jobs and cut over 3,400 technician and clerical jobs across the country over the next few weeks. These cuts come as Americans have become more dependent than ever on reliable communications services and the COVID-19 crisis has revealed significant gaps in broadband availability, especially in rural areas.

Last month, outgoing AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson described the COVID-19 crisis as “a time of war," during an interview on CNN. Stephenson went on to say, “Everybody needs to step up and do their part, in terms of how we help the general population and the general public."

As the incoming CEO, we're asking you to stand with working people and do your part to help everyone succeed during this troubled time. For weeks, AT&T has praised its workers for continuing to show up as essential workers. Our essential workers have kept AT&T successful throughout the pandemic. Now, we need you to step up, stop cutting these essential jobs and lead the recovery.

In Unity,
