Attorney General nominee William Barr would be a nightmare for the open Internet

Senate

President Trump’s top pick for Attorney General is an ex-Verizon lawyer–like Ajit Pai. If confirmed, he would be bad news for Internet freedom and privacy.

Barr has a bad track record of putting telecom giants and government spies ahead of Internet users. In the past he’s supported massive telecom mergers, and fought to expand warrantless access to people’s private information.

William Barr would be a nightmare for the open Internet. But we can stop his confirmation if we can get 51 Senators to vote against him. Sign the petition to tell the Senate: Do not appoint William Barr as Attorney General.
