Ayotzinapa: Canada Complicit in Coverup - Stop Protecting Tomás Zerón!

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada

Office of the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Justin Trudeau,

On March 18, 2020 a Mexican judge issued an arrest warrant for the former head of investigations for the national Attorney General's Office, Tomás Zerón, for alleged violations in the case of 43 Ayotzinapa students, missing since September 26, 2014, victims of the International Crime of Forced Disappearance.

Tomas Zerón and five other former officials face charges including torture, forced disappearance and judicial misconduct.

Mexican federal officials who were not authorized to be quoted by name said that a warrant has been issued for Zerón's arrest and that the international police agency Interpol had been notified to help locate him in case he was outside of Mexico. One of the officials said there were indications that Zerón may have left for Canada in late 2019.

Yet Zerón is not under arrest today.

In fact, in doing a search today of the Red Flag notices on the Interpol website, the name of Tomas Zerón shows NO RESULTS.

Zerón's arrest and that the international police agency Interpol had been notified to help locate him in case he was outside of Mexico. One of the officials said there were indications that Zerón may have left for Canada in late 2019.

Where is Tomas Zerón? Has he been granted protection by the Canadian government in spite of being the subject of an arrest warrant for his criminal actions in the Mexican government coverup of the Forced Disappearance of the 43 students of Ayotzinapa?

Why has the Canadian government refused to confirm or deny that Zerón is in Canada?

Is the Canadian government now also complicit in the coverup of the international crime of Forced Disappearance in the case of the 43 Ayotzinapa students?

I urge you to respond immediately and directly to the parents of the 43 Ayotzinapa students who were Forcibly Disappeared by agents of the state in Iguala, Guerrero, Mexico on September 26, 2014.

Instead of conducting a competent and responsible investigation into the incident, Tomás Zerón falsified evidence, engaged in judicial misconduct, and allowed the torture of witnesses to hide the true criminals behind the incident.
