Ban Second-Home Airbnbs. House the People.

Bozeman City Commission

Map of short-terms rentals in Bozeman, from AirDNA, the leading analytics on the $40 Billion dollar short-term rental industry.

Our community is in a housing crisis. Working Bozemanites struggle to find stable housing, or are being pushed out of town completely. Meanwhile, over 750 housing units have been taken off the market and turned into “Short Term Rentals” for wealthy vacationers. These units could be housing our people -- not de facto hotels.

We have a choice: let Bozeman continue down the path towards becoming a sterile playground for the rich OR we can fight to end the displacement so the working people of Bozeman can stay.

Bozeman Tenants United demands that the Bozeman City Commission:

1. Ban Second-Home Short-Term Rentals (Airbnbs, VRBOs, etc.) -- short-term rentals that are not occupied year-round by their owners, and operate as a second home
2. Use the city’s Community Housing Fund to subsidize Bozeman homeowners to rent housing to tenants at a truly affordable rate

We need homes, not short term rentals.
