Bring Back Red Deer Buses!

Red Deer City Council

We understand now more than ever that public transit plays a vital role in the lives of passengers and to the whole community. Public transit moves essential workers and people on essential trips.

Transit is a public good because it benefits everybody, even if they don’t ride transit. If someone doesn’t take a bus to the hospital or grocery store, the people who work there do.

The City of Red Deer has cut service so deep that there is (1) no fixed route service after 8pm; (2) many routes have been cut from service; and (3) less frequency on remaining routes.

We need more resources going into transit, not less!

Let's unite in our belief that transit is a public good and it is the city's job to provide conventional transit on a fixed route with fixed schedules. Let's unite in our demand that the city bring back the buses!

Will you sign our petition to stand us with and demand the Mayor and City Council restore transit service up to, but not limited to, a Sunday service schedule?

Residents of Red Deer need public transit.

The route cuts and the lack of service after 8pm is hurting essential workers and people on essential trips.

We, the public, demand and expect the restoration of safe, affordable and reliable transit on a fixed schedule that works for commuters, residents and bus operators. We did not cause this pandemic and we will not accept the cuts and lack of service after 8pm any longer.

Bring back our bus service!
