Bring the Presidential Tax Transparency Act to a Vote!
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
For the past 40 years, it has been tradition that presidential nominees of both major parties voluntarily release multiple years of their tax returns. Now Donald Trump is threatening to break this 40-year tradition – hiding behind a phony excuse of an IRS audit.
Before the Senate adjourns for a lengthy pre-election recess, join Senator Ron Wyden and Americans for Tax Fairness Action Fund in demanding that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell bring the Presidential Tax Transparency Act to a vote.

For the past 40 years, leading presidential nominees of both major parties have voluntarily released multiple years of their tax returns. They do this to give the voters an objective record to evaluate how they have earned their money, what conflicts of interest they would face if elected, what charities they’ve supported, and how they’ve conducted their finances.
It’s time for the Senate to put politics aside and turn this good government practice into law. Bring the Presidential Tax Transparency Act to a vote before the Senate adjourns for the pre-election recess.
