Calling for Bold Leadership to Address the Climate Crisis

President Barack Obama

“No challenge provides a greater threat to the future of the planet.” "We are the first generation to feel the impacts of climate change, and the last generation to be able to do something about it.”

“There is such a thing as being too late when it comes to climate change.”

“As Pope Francis made clear…taking a stand against climate change is a moral obligation.”

President Obama: Match your bold words with bold actions:
Lead the World at the COP-21 United Nations negotiations in achieving a legally binding treaty to drastically cut GHG emissions over the next decade in order to avert catastrophic climate change and preserve a livable planet:

Commit the U.S., the largest historical emitter of CO2, to reducing our climate pollution 40% by 2025 (27% of 1990 levels) - doubling our current pledge - on a pathway towards 85% reductions of 2005 levels by mid-century.

Commit increased U.S. financial, technical and humanitarian support for the nations and communities most at risk from the devastating impacts of climate change.

Lead the World in Declaring the Arctic a “No-Go-Zone” – immediately and permanently off limits to all fossil fuel exploration and extraction –and advocate inclusion of such a declaration in the COP-21 UN Agreement.
