CBS2/KCAL9 Web and CBSN Writers Demand a Fair Contract
CBS2/KCAL9 Management

CBS2/KCAL9 Web and CBSN WGAW writers need your support. While we’ve made some progress in negotiations with CBS, we remain far apart on key issues including minimum compensation and wage increases for all employees, producer fees, and fair treatment of employees who work with both the Web and Broadcast teams. It’s time for CBS to invest in the employees driving their business strategy for growth and expansion in streaming. Please sign this petition to help us win a fair contract for CBS2/KCAL9 Web and CBSN writers.

In the face of a global pandemic and company lay-offs, CBS2/KCAL9 Web and CBSN writers paused negotiations and focused exclusively on keeping our audience safe and informed. Now that we’ve resumed negotiations, it’s time to acknowledge these writers for their hard work and many contributions and invest in the very employees driving your business strategy for growth and expansion in streaming. The CBS web writers have not received a wage increase in almost 4 years. They deserve a fair contract now that includes:
-Wage increases for all employees;
-Increases to the minimum compensation;
-Additional pay for additional work;
-Fair treatment for employees who work with both the Web and Broadcast teams; and
-Paid Time Off
As proud members of the WGAW and the CBS news team, we urge CBS to reach a fair and swift agreement with wage increases and much needed working protections for all CBS2/KCAL9 Web and CBSN writers.
