Throughout the presidential campaign, you promised repeatedly that if elected you would protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid from cuts. But since taking office you’ve appointed cabinet members―like Tom Price and Mick Mulvaney―who spent their entire congressional careers attempting to destroy our earned benefits. You pushed for the passage of the American Health Care Act, which would raid $117 billion from Medicare’s trust fund and cut $880 billion from Medicaid. And now, there are reports that your FY2018 budget further guts Medicaid while additionally cutting Social Security Disability Insurance. We demand that you take your hands off SSDI and all of our earned benefits. Stand by your campaign promise to protect Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
