Create Interim Housing in Santa Clara

Santa Clara City Council

The County of Santa Clara and LifeMoves have proposed creating interim housing in the city of Santa Clara at Benton Street and Lawrence Expressway.

The program will have 80–120 units, providing unsheltered individuals with private sleeping units, restrooms and showers, and the program will also include on-site support services for the people staying there. Program participants will be assigned case managers who can help connect them with access to healthcare, mental health counseling, addiction treatment, job placement assistance, and housing search assistance.

Hundreds of our neighbors in Santa Clara are unhoused and unsheltered, and this interim housing will provide a vital opportunity for these individuals to stabilize their lives, gain access to supportive services, start to recover from the stress of living on the street, and look for permanent housing. Please sign this petition encouraging Santa Clara City Council to support and approve this essential project.
