Declare the Climate Emergency in Washington State

Current efforts against climate change do not sufficiently convey the urgency of the climate crisis that the world currently faces. Declaring the climate emergency would bring attention and push action and legislation at a pace warranted by the urgent and potentially cataclysmic effects of climate change.
Declaring the climate emergency would mean the following:
- The state publicly recognizes that climate change poses danger to the public
- The state declares that the current measures are insufficient and more targeted
action is required - The state mandates limits and regulations
- Puts priority on climate action propositions and delegates funds toward
mitigating climate change and crises caused by climate change
