Declare the Climate Emergency in Washington State
Washington State Legislators
Current efforts against climate change do not sufficiently convey the urgency of the climate crisis that the world currently faces. Declaring the climate emergency would bring attention and push action and legislation at a pace warranted by the urgent and potentially cataclysmic effects of climate change.
Declaring the climate emergency would mean the following:
- The state publicly recognizes that climate change poses danger to the public
- The state declares that the current measures are insufficient and more targeted
action is required - The state mandates limits and regulations
- Puts priority on climate action propositions and delegates funds toward
mitigating climate change and crises caused by climate change
The enactment of this proposal would be a step toward a brighter, cleaner future for Washington State and for the world. Your support is invaluable to securing the livelihoods of our own and future generations.

Dear Washington State Legislator,
As one of your constituents, I am concerned about the pressing issue of climate change. Current efforts have proven not to be sufficient in mitigating the causes and effects of climate change. It is clear to me that the climate crisis is an urgent issue that cannot be ignored any longer without an unacceptable loss of life. The only solution is to declare a state of emergency with regards to the climate in order to enact legislation to properly address this dire problem.
Please take action before it is too late.
Sincerely, your constituent.
