Defend Abortion Rights In Cuyahoga County

Prosecutor Mike O'Malley

Protect Women in Cuyahoga County

With Roe v. Wade struck down and a radical anti-women Statehouse led by Republicans, it is now illegal for people in Ohio to get an abortion after 6 weeks.

It is prosecutors who are charged with enforcing this hateful and harmful law.

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley has not indicated whether or not he is willing to side with the overwhelming majority of residents in protecting those seeking abortion care from the hatred of the anti-choice Republican minority.

Sign our petition demanding O’Malley join hundreds of prosecutors around the country in committing to not criminally charge those who seek abortion care.

Prosecutor O’Malley,

As residents of Cuyahoga County, we demand that you represent the overwhelming majority of your constituents in committing to not use taxpayer resources to attack the basic right to healthcare decisions made by those who seek abortion care or those who assist patients in need.

In a letter currently being circulated by Fair and Just Prosecution, Prosecutors and District Attorneys around the country are publicly pledging to uphold their oath to serve the interests of the public, not enforce newly enacted criminal codes against abortion patients or providers.

The letter in part states: “As elected prosecutors, when we stand in court, we have the privilege and obligation to represent “the people.” All members of our communities are our clients – they elected us to represent them and we are bound to fight for them as we carry out our obligation to pursue justice. Our legislatures may decide to criminalize personal healthcare decisions, but we remain obligated to prosecute only those cases that serve the interests of justice and the people.”

We urge you to sign this letter and use the position in which you have been entrusted to protect your constituents who seek abortion healthcare.
