Tell the Delano City Council: Legalize Cannabis & Fund Our Futures in Delano

Delano City Council

Dear Mayor Osorio & Delano City Council Members:

It’s time to repeal the outdated ban on the growth, manufacturing, and sale of cannabis here in Delano.

This ban means our city can’t regulate and monitor the sale of cannabis, so it’s actually harder to keep youth and everyone in our city safe. On top of that, we’re losing jobs, tax revenue, and making it harder for our chronically ill residents to get the medicine they need.

We’re urging the city council to not just legalize the sale of cannabis here, but to use its tax revenue to fund youth programs focused on preventing gun violence and building a safer community for everyone.

Right now, our neighboring cities of Tulare, Farmersville, Porterville and Fresno all allow the sale of cannabis – and their communities are benefiting from the millions in additional tax revenue. It’s time for Delano to catch up.

The Delano City Council is meeting on January 18th to discuss whether to repeal this ban, and we need to make our voices heard now.

Will you add your name to our petition urging the Delano City Council to legalize the manufacturing and sale of cannabis here in Delano?
