Demand a Postmaster General who will fight for the public postal service!

The Postal Board of Governors

select a pro-public postmaster general

The United States Postal Service mission to deliver an affordable, public service, to over 169 million addresses 6 days a week, is at risk if we don’t all act soon.

The White House is planning a hostile takeover of the Postal Service. They have forced out the Postmaster General and they are intent on breaking up and selling off the public Postal Service.

The appointment of a new Postmaster General could be a make-or-break moment. If the White House gets its way, the new appointee could start handing over parts of the service to private corporations and prepare it for a wholesale sell-off.

The law is clear that only the Postal Board of Governors can hire and fire the Postmaster General. We now call on the Board of Governors to move as quickly as possible to hire someone who will:

  • Remain committed to the public service mission of the USPS, no matter the threat from the White House.
  • Respect the rights of hardworking postal workers.
  • Not break up and sell off our public Postal Service.

No matter who leads the USPS, it is – and must remain – the People’s Postal Service.

We the undersigned believe in a public Postal Service committed to providing quality service to everyone, no matter who they are or where they live, at reasonable and uniform rates. The United States Postal Service is an essential part of the fabric of the country and a source of good, living wage jobs for our communities.

We call on you to appoint a new Postmaster General who is fully committed to mission of the Postal Service to provide universal postal services, respects the rights of postal workers, and who will stand up to any attempt to break up and sell off, in whole or in part, our public Postal Service to private corporations for private profit.
