Demand Adams County Reimburse Employees for Work-Related Expenses!

Adams County Board of County Commissioners

Last month, Adams County informed its employees that it would be closing all facilities in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. Human service workers were notified that they would continue providing services to Adams County remotely and were expected to make the transition almost immediately, with minimal guidance from leadership and virtually no office equipment.

In an effort to ensure that public services to the community remained uninterrupted, Adams County human service workers stepped up and worked quickly to meet management’s expectations and make the necessary adjustments that would allow them to work from home. For some employees, this included purchasing reliable internet services, utilizing personal cell phones to make work-related phone calls, or accumulating mileage by having to make required trips to serve the community. Now, Adams County refuses to reimburse employees for the out of pocket expenses that are a direct result of the transition to remote work.

During a time when the pandemic has caused many people financial hardship, don’t let Adams County human service workers take on the responsibility of paying for work-related necessities.

Join us in demanding Adams County reimburse human service employees for work-related internet services, personal cell phone use, and mileage!
