Demand JPMorgan Chase stop financing Suncor Energy and tar sands!

Jamie Dimon, Chairman and CEO, JPMorgan Chase

Tar sands is an incredibly dirty fossil fuel harming people and the planet. Extraction and refining of tar sands by companies like Suncor Energy is wreaking havoc on the climate, Indigenous communities in Canada, and Latine communities in Colorado.

In Colorado, the Suncor tar sands refinery is one of the largest sources of pollution in the state and produces a toxic cocktail of emissions which have serious adverse health consequences on the communities living nearby. The predominantly Latine and working class residents suffer from high rates of cancer, respiratory illness, heart disease, and asthma while frequent accidents at the refinery have even forced local schools into lockdowns.

To have a chance at a stable future and healthy communities, we must keep fossil fuels - especially tar sands - in the ground. Yet as the largest U.S. banker of tar sands, JPMorgan Chase continues to drive climate destruction and human rights abuses . Since 2016, JPMorgan Chase has provided Suncor Energy with over $3 billion in fossil fuel financing.

As the largest financier of fossil fuels, JPMorgan Chase must stop funding Suncor Energy and the tar sands. Tell Jamie Dimon today by signing the petition!
