We Stand with Stop & Shop Workers!
President of Stop & Shop New England Division Mark McGowan
As of 1pm on April 11th, 31,000 Stop and Shop workers across New England are on strike. With multi-billion-dollar profits, the company is profiting off of the hard working employees. After years of disrespect in the workplace and relentless requests to accept lower pay and worse benefits, it's time for all of us to stand up and tell Stop & Shop we won't accept this treatment. Hey Stop and shop- you can't hide! We can see your greedy side! #1U #StopCorporateGreed

We, the customers of Stop & Shop and members of the communities the stores serve, pledge our full support to Stop & Shop workers in their battle for respect at work. Stop & Shop must respect their workers both inside and outside the workplace. We demand that Stop & Shop negotiate a fair contract with workers.
Stop & Shop can afford to treat their workers better. The supermarket giant reported a $1.45 billion revenue in the first 3 quarters of 2018, a 19% increase from the first 3 quarters of 2017. Despite this, they have consistently tried to force workers to accept cuts to pay and benefits.
We stand with workers on strike. These workers are people -- and members of our communities first and foremost. They are at the front line of these stores, serving us every day and making sure that we can feed ourselves and our families. The treatment of Stop & Shop workers isn’t right and we won’t stand for it.
As customers, we recognize our role in this unfair treatment when we buy from Stop & Shop. We refuse to be silent in the face of corporate greed. We demand that Stop & Shop agree to pay their workers a liveable wage that is up to industry standards and provide them with comprehensive benefits including healthcare and pension.
