With just a few days left until the Presidential election, the #Buffalo25 will be launching a week-long #Journey2Dignity to expose the daily reality of life as an undocumented immigrant in this country.

The immigrant community is already facing the effects of the Trump rhetoric, but the candidates and the media has largely ignored the rise of ICE raids and increased enforcement in the country since the election campaigning began.

Four of the #Buffalo25 are currently wearing ankle monitors, and will cross the state line of Pennsylvania through the pilgrimage to stand up to ICE.

They will be standing up against immigration authorities in order to bring the pain of the immigrant community-- who has faced family separation, exploitation, and mass detention-- to electoral offices during the final days of the election. The #Buffalo25 want to send a clear message to the political establishment and to the American public that the pain of our community will no longer remain invisible and we will no longer remain silent. We cannot keep fighting case after case of detention and deportation. It is time for the community to demand what it needs: permanent protection for all immigrants.

Last Tuesday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency raided 4 Mexican restaurants and detained at least 25 workers and their families in Buffalo, NY. ICE ransacked their homes, took workers’ savings, and threw their belongings in the basement.
