Don’t put Britain on the Nuclear Front Line
Prime Minister
US nuclear weapons are returning to the UK for the first time since 2008. Bringing the new B61-12 nuclear bomb to Lakenheath airbase in Suffolk makes UK citizens a target in any nuclear war.
Global tensions are at the highest they have been for decades, but the return of nuclear weapons to British soil will only make things worse.
As part of the UK and global majority, I call on the government to reject US nuclear weapons at any site in the UK.
I want to live in a world free from the risk of nuclear war and I want the British government to do everything in its power to defuse international tensions, in order to prevent nuclear war.
Public awareness of the return of US nuclear weapons is growing, and the majority of the British public are opposed to it. A survey conducted by YouGov in late August 2023 found that 59% were either opposed or strongly opposed to a US nuclear mission in Britain.
