DOT: INSTALL A TRAFFIC SIGNAL AT THE INTERSECTION OF SENECA AVE & WEIRFIELD STREET

Seneca Ave and Weirfield Street, which is located within the school zone of P.S. 239, is the only intersection from St. Felix Ave to Dekalb Ave with no traffic signal. There have been countless accidents at this intersection that have endangered children and the community at large and yet DOT has failed to install traffic signals to keep us all safe.
The need for a traffic signal at this intersection is URGENT! There was a hit-and-run on George Street and Weirfield St on August 10th which critically injured a delivery man and a mother crossing the street with her young toddler. Just five days later on Sunday night, a 74-year old beloved father named Be Tran was killed by another hit-and-run driver while crossing Myrtle Avenue and Seneca Ave. We call on DOT to take our safety seriously -- install a traffic signal at Weirfield St and Seneca Ave and improve pedestrian safety in Ridgewood NOW! We demand a neighborhood that is safe for all.

We, the undersigned, are concerned residents who urge the Department of Transportation to install traffic signals at the intersection of Seneca Avenue and Weirfield Street so that no more of our neighbors become victims to reckless drivers that endanger our safety.
