#DumpTrump from U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Event

U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce,

Tell the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) to remove Donald Trump from its presidential candidate event on October 8, 2015. It is a slap to the face of our community, for the USHCC to provide Trump with a platform to legitimize his candidacy and hateful rhetoric against Latinos and immigrants.

We, the undersigned, demand that the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) remove Donald Trump from its presidential candidate event on October 8, 2015. It is a slap to the face of our community, for the USHCC to provide Trump with a platform to legitimize his candidacy and hateful rhetoric against Latinos and immigrants.

It’s shameful, and a slap to the face of our community, for the USHCC to provide cover and legitimacy to a candidate who refers to Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “criminals”.

Donald Trump has outlined his policy of deporting 11 million people, in addition to five million U.S. citizens, and his anti-immigrant rhetoric is by no means “gracious” nor “hospitable, as the USHCC’s CEO Javier Palomarez described Trump during a meeting last week. Donald Trump’s supporters have even committed acts of violence upon members of our community invoking his views.

There has been no “mischaracterization” of Trump by the media - Donald Trump has created a hostile environment for Latinos and immigrants in this country.

Not hosting USHCC conferences in Trump-owned hotels is not enough. As many other organizations have already dumped Trump in light of his racist rants, we urge the USHCC, an organization that represents millions of Latinos and immigrants and in particular Latino and immigrant business owners, to the do the same.
