PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO REPRESENTATIVE BRIAN FITZPATRICK OF PA-01 TO PUSH THROUGH AID FOR UKRAINE AND OTHER ALLIES!!

Ukraine is fighting for its very survival as a democracy against the unprovoked aggression of Russia and its dictator, Vladimir Putin. Aid to Ukraine and other allies has been languishing in Congress because of the actions of MAGA extremists as well as their leadership chaos and incompetence for over 5 months. In that time, Ukraine has had to abandon territory because they don’t have the weapons they need to defend their nation and their autonomy.

It is imperative that we continue to support our allies abroad. If the United States of America were to abandon Ukraine, it is a signal to China, Russia and other bad actors that their smaller neighbors are ripe for exploitation and invasion. The only ones to benefit from our inaction and broken commitments to our allies are Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

To that end, we are asking PA-01 Republican Representative Brian Fitzptrick to sign onto a discharge petition in support of H.R. 815, an aid bill that has already passed the Senate, with a vote of 70-29. A discharge petition is a House process by which a majority of the Representatives can force a bill onto the floor for a vote by simply signing onto the petition.

Right now, MAGA House Speaker Mike Johnson refuses to bring this bill to the floor for a vote, because far-right House members like Marjorie Taylor-Greene are threatening to unseat Johnson if he does so, just like what Matt Gaetz did to Kevin McCarthy last year. The discharge petition process would force a vote, leaving Speaker Johnson with no recourse to stop it.

Please sign this petition to help convince Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick, a Co-Chair of the House Ukraine Caucus, to take this step in support of our allies!

We, the undersigned, believe it is imperative that America stands by our commitments to our allies. We believe it is critical that we fund Ukraine and other allies as quickly as possible. We call upon you, Representative Fitzpatrick, to initiate or sign onto a discharge petition to bring H.R. 815, the $95 billion national security and aid package for our allies, to the floor of the House for a vote. We further ask you to work within your Problem Solvers Caucus to develop support with other Republican lawmakers to initiate and sign onto such a discharge petition.

Representative Fitzpatrick, you often talk about how important bipartisan cooperation is in Congress. The H.R. 815 legislation passed the Senate on February 13th with 70 votes - 22 from your fellow Republicans, 46 from Democrats, and 2 from Independents. Considering your past discussions of bipartisanship, we believe this kind of support from both sides of the aisle exemplifies the spirit of bipartisanship you so often tout. We know that this bill can pass if it makes it to the floor of the House of Representatives for a vote, but it requires courage and action from you and the Problem Solver Republicans to make that happen.

Lastly, we ask that you cease promoting your bill, H.R. 7372: Defending Borders, Defending Democracies Act. Your bill accomplishes many of the same goals as H.R. 815, but your bill has not even made it into a committee yet for mark-up, while H.R. 815 has already passed the Senate. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has stressed the importance of timely aid, and as such it is key to support the bill that can be passed expeditiously. It is better, then, to back the bipartisan bill that has already passed one house of Congress.

Congressman, please support a discharge petition for H.R. 815, and encourage other Problem Solver Republicans to do so.
