Emergency Medicare for All NOW
Members of Congress

Congress MUST pass emergency legislation to allow everyone within our borders to have access to health care for the next 90 days in order to contain the outbreak. And, we must build on that foundation to move toward a comprehensive Medicare for All system to prevent future chaos and panic.
COVID-19 has demonstrated clearly how woefully unprepared the United States is for a pandemic outbreak, primarily because there is no emergency infrastructure to ensure everyone, regardless of ability to pay, has access to health care services. The debate has been about individual health care, but this pandemic has demonstrated clearly that we all have a vested interest in the people around us being healthy, too.
Additionally, Congress must address the economic factors facing America's workers as we move toward self-imposed isolation to slow the spread of the virus. Basic needs of food, housing, and basic utility bills have already been under serious pressure as most Americans do not have enough for a small emergency, let alone facing a few weeks or a few months.
